Dr. Olivia Cui obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at University of Montreal with Honors in 2015. She then pursued a General Dentistry Residency at the Notre-Dame Hospital before moving to Alberta. She has been practicing as a general dentist in Olds for the past 8 years and has thoroughly enjoyed the small town community feel and the loyal patients she has treated over the years.

Dr. Cui is committed to providing high standard and comprehensive dental care in the most comfortable and gentle way possible. She believes in taking the time to listen to your concerns and making your individual needs her top priority. Dr. Cui is passionate about the art of dentistry and takes pride in keeping her skills up-to-date with advancing dental techniques by attending various continuing education courses. She has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign.

When she is not busy fighting cavities, Dr. Cui enjoys staying active through weight training, pilates, cycling and running after her 4 year old daughter. She loves traveling with her family and enjoying all that the world has to offer!

Periodontitis, better known as Gum Disease, is more common than one might think. This condition occurs when bacteria in the form of plaque and calculus are allowed to grow unchecked on the teeth. The body’s natural inflammatory response kicks in causing swelling and redness in the area and can even lead to bleeding gums. This infection can eventually spread below the gum line and cause even greater damage to the supporting bone and the periodontal ligament which hold teeth solid in your jaw.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants have become the gold standard for replacing missing teeth. Implants can even look and feel like your natural teeth.

Dental implants are replacement teeth that are fixed to your jawbone with a titanium or zirconium post. This post is inserted into the jaw in the same location as the root of the tooth that was extracted.

Wisdom teeth are what many people call the 3rd molars. They are the last teeth to emerge if they don’t cause problems. Unfortunately they often do cause problems. For most people our jaws are not large enough to be able to accommodate this set of large teeth coming in and the result is teeth that are crooked or that don’t fully emerge.
