Fun Facts: Did you know that the enamel on the top surface on your tooth is the hardest part of your entire body?
In fact, tooth enamel is even reportedly harder than steel! (Guess all the things my mother ever said about being so ‘hard headed’ were only partially true, huh?) 🙂
In all seriousness, that enamel is an important part of what protects the root of your tooth from exposure to air, cold, heat, and more – which leads to tooth sensitivity.
It’s important to protect your enamel with proper brushing, flossing, and rinsing.
You can also protect your teeth by avoiding bad habits like crunching ice and by wearing a mouth guard when you play sports.
Of course, if you notice any increased sensitivity or pain when exposed to heat, cold, air, or other stimuli, it’s important to let us know! Click here or call West Olds Dental Clinic at (587) 855-4747 and we can schedule an appointment to find out what’s wrong.
Don’t let tooth sensitivity cause you unnecessary pain! We’re on your side and are always here to help!
